Dancing
Our fully-qualified dance teacher, Rachel, takes children over two [at no extra cost] for a dancing lesson on Monday mornings. The children are divided into two groups. Younger children's lessons are geared towards enjoyment and fun, whilst the emphasis for the older children is on rhythm, imagination and learning to work within a group. A number of teaching aids are used in this group, ranging from musical instruments to fairy wands.

Music and movement with Groovy Movers
Richard, our music and movement teacher, visits the nursery to give the children a chance to sing and experiment with a variety of instruments, props and movement. Each session has a different focus, with lots of opportunities for all children to improve their gross motor skills, listening and attention and musicality in an interactive and fun way.
There is no extra charge for these sessions. Please click here for further information.
Every spring we organise a special event/activity for our children. It is different each year and in the past we’ve had a mobile farm, butterflies and even a chicken/duckling hatchery!
Sports
Each week a sports coach visits the nursery, providing all children with an introduction to Football and Rugby. The sessions for the younger children focus on following simple instructions, gross motor development and simple ball skills. The older children begin developing an understanding of the importance of exercise for a healthy lifestyle, as well as, interacting in simple games, further ball skills and following 'rules'.

French
'Fun French' is a weekly session delivered by our profession French tutor, Amanda. Learning a foreign language in nursery is fun and free of pressure, revolving around games, songs and rhymes. The more fun they have, the more knowledge children will acquire subconsciously, preparing them for the French tuition provided in local schools. Early foriegn language learning can reinforce literacy skills and nuture enthusiasm. Language development is at its most rapid at this age group, and comes easily to the very young, stimulating their imaginations. These French sessions are optional, and available for children over three for an approximate cost of £40 per term.
